Technical Post: Creating Frizz in the Hair

We learnt how to create frizz in the hair without any crimpers. This was done using hair pins. Although it is a very time consuming task, and the same effect could be easily achieved using crimpers and brushing the crimp out, it is not always possible to use crimpers, and of course they did not have crimpers in the Elizabethan times. This will give you a very authentic Elizabethan frizz.

To do this:

-Section the hair into sections no wider than the top of the hair pin.
-Place the hairpin right at the root of the hair and begin to weave the hair in a figure 8 shape around the pin.
-Once the whole pin has been wrapped, secure it with a hair grip.
-At this stage you could apply heat to develop the frizz a bit quicker, or just leave it to set for a while.
-Remove the pins and brush the hair out and you will be left with frizzed hair.
